Sex and the City Flirtini

Sex and the City Flirtini

Sex and the City Flirtini

At the end of Season 3 of Sex and the City, Samantha asks “So, what are we all drinking?” Carrie replies, “Flirtinis! Vodka, pineapple, and champagne. Flirtinis.” I’m rewatching all of Sex and the City now that I’m in my 30s (it came out when I was in middle school!) and I have to laugh at how dated it is, yet I’m still loving it. So here is my recipe for the Sex and the City Flirtini. #ahastycocktail

What is Sex and the City?

"Sex and the City" is a groundbreaking television series that emerged in the late 1990s, revolutionizing the way female friendships and relationships were portrayed on screen. Created by Darren Star and based on Candace Bushnell's book of the same name, the show follows the lives of four dynamic and fashion-forward women navigating the complexities of love, work, and friendship in New York City. Sarah Jessica Parker stars as the iconic Carrie Bradshaw, a relationship columnist whose musings on love and life serve as the narrative backbone. The ensemble cast, including Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, Kristin Davis as Charlotte York, and Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, collectively explores themes of empowerment, independence, and the pursuit of happiness. Known for its candid discussions about sex and its glamorous depiction of Manhattan's social scene, "Sex and the City" has left an enduring legacy, influencing fashion, female-driven storytelling, and the cultural conversation around relationships and modern womanhood.

Flirtini Cocktail Instructions:

Fill a shaker with ice. Add vodka and pineapple juice (can also be made with vanilla vodka for a sweeter drink). Shake like you mean it. Strain into a martini glass (although the girls in Sex and the City were drinking them out of what could’ve been water glasses.) Top with champagne.

Makes 2. These are best consumed with friends.
