Book Review - In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk
I thought this was the perfect read for women in their 30s, whether you’re married, dating, or single…at the height of your career or struggling to find your place…with or without kids…there is a character in this book that you’ll relate to. It occurred to me, partway through this book, that there aren’t many rom-coms about women in their 30s. Most of them feature women in their 20s, usually fresh out of college just starting their careers. But women in their 30s face unique challenges and I really enjoyed reading about them in this novel.

In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk is about Ros who returns home to England from a dream job in Washington, D.C. She is living in a shed her parents renovated in their back yard to be a sort of tiny home until she’s able to find a job and get back on her feet. In an attempt to let her friends know she’s back in town, she sends a text to all of her contacts…even those long ago deleted from her phone, but somehow saved in the cloud…including an old annoying colleague…including her ex-boyfriend that broke her heart when he suggested they end things when she was offered the job in D.C.

Ros has a great group of friends who reminded me of friends and acquaintances of my own. There was a little bit of what it is like to have friends in your 30s, a little bit of romance, a little bit of career and the struggles that go along with that, and a little bit of pop culture that had me laughing and rolling my eyes while also recognizing the truth in it. I flew through this book, I think I needed the lightheartedness of it while also really appreciating how accurately it portrayed life in your 30s.
