Therese Anne Fowler
Author Interview - Therese Anne Fowler
Author I draw inspiration from: I’ve long wanted to be Ann Patchett when I grow up.
Favorite place to read a book: On my deck, in the shade of the huge old oak in my backyard.
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Dolores Haze, aka Lolita; I want to get her side of the story.
The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be one.
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: trade paperback
The last book I read: Arcadia by Lauren Groff
Pen & paper or computer: Both. I “think” and do some minimal drafting by hand, then write it up on the computer.
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: When I was young, it would have been Laura Ingalls, no question. I joke that I am her, reincarnated.
If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: neuroscientist, or maybe a medical diagnostician. Or a botanist! This is too hard. Ask me another question.
Favorite decade in fashion history: 1960s, both the bohemian and the elegant fashions.
Place I’d most like to travel: the Alps.
My signature drink: Lately it’s the French 75.
Favorite artist: I don’t have a favorite, but I’m keen right now on Caravaggio.
Number one on my bucket list: It’s a tie between going birding in Brazil or hiking in the Alps.
