25 Authors and the Places They'd Most Like to Travel
I've been to Paris, but I want to see the rest of France
India. I already love the food, and I’m really intrigued by the country’s long and complicated history, and the photographs I’ve seen of the country entrance me every time.
New Zealand (so if you are part of a writer’s conference there please e-mail me).
This changes all the time, but I think I would like to see Paris before I die. I'd like to eat cheese and butter croissants there. And even though it's bad for me, I would probably fight the urge to smoke cigarettes while walking though Pere Lachaise. I know, I know. It's the sixteen year old goth girl in me. She's always inside me somewhere, listening to Siouxsie and the Banshees and reading Anne Rice novels.

In terms of my own curiosity -- Greece. My maternal grandparents came from two small Greek towns, in the early part of the last century, and I’d love to go back and see what those towns are like now. In terms of responding to the needs of world – Syria or Yemen. I’m too cowardly to go into a war zone, but if I were more courageous and capable, I’d find a way to support civilians who’ve been deprived of safety and food in those two places in particular, so painfully hit by civil war. And lastly, America. This country is so big, and so diverse culturally, historically and geographically. You could spend a lifetime investigating America and still have lots to see.

Istanbul. I am dying to pass through The Dardanelles.
All over Europe. I suppose, if I must pick, Ireland would be my first choice right now.
Italy is my favorite place in the world. I’m still finding new places there to discover!
I travel a lot in Japan, but Korea is somewhere that really interests me.
The place I’ve been to the most out of the U.S. but love dearly: England.
I’ve never been to Hawaii. We’ve been trying to plan a family trip there for years and it hasn’t worked out, but I really, really want to go. I’d love to go to the beaches, of course, but also, I really want to visit Pearl Harbor.
England! I want to see Dartmoor in Devon, Cornwall and West Yorkshire, so it won’t be a quick trip. While there, I may as well head north to the Shetland Islands, another place on my list.
Greece and Turkey, always.
I was an exchange student to Spain was I was in high-school and I haven’t been back since my early twenties. I am very ready to take my kids to Spain to see Flamenco, the Alhambra, eat tapas and enjoy the beach and friendly people. Spain is top on my list at the moment.
