Lilac Girls
Book Review - Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly
I haven't finished a book since I moved to Chicago...until now! I'm back with a #HastyBookList addition! Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly is based on the true story of Caroline Ferriday's work with Polish women who had been political prisoners at Ravensbrück. One of my biggest pet peeves with WWII books is the "...and the war ended and they lived happily ever after" endings. This book doesn't do that. It goes well beyond the end of the war to tell the whole story of what these women went through during and after the war. A must read.
