Chelsea Kwoka was born and raised in Florida and currently resides in West Los Angeles, making her a beach girl to her core. After getting her Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Florida State University, she traveled Florida doing educational and children’s theatre before making the move to the other Sunshine State. She was booking small movie roles and working odd jobs, one selling hotdogs on the famous Santa Monica Pier, when she was stopped by a vocal coach and recommended that she look into voice over. Chelsea fell in love with the world of VO, working as a host for PopSugar, doing commercials for KIND and Cartoon Network, and especially, recording audiobooks. She found that the world of audiobooks gave her the freedom to not just act in, but to “cast” and “direct”, a whole movie! She has been so lucky to work with incredible authors who are collaborative and share their vision, helping Chelsea bring the story to life. “Forgetting What I Couldn’t Remember” by Angelina Singer, is her most recent audiobook, now available on Audible, Amazon and iTunes. Chelsea loves the challenges of each new story and ultimately always hates to say goodbye to the characters at the end. She got her love of unique characters from her family, and got her taste of the spotlight studying and performing SNL skits for friends as a child (Dana Carvey’s “Church Lady” being a personal favorite). Chelsea is so grateful to be doing what she loves, with the support of her husband and family, and is always looking forward to the next great book adventure!

How did you prepare to narrate Forgetting What I Couldn’t Remember (The Rewind Duology Book 1) by Angelina Singer?
The first thing I always do when getting ready to dive into a new project, is ask questions. I love to collaborate with the authors and in this case, Angelina was invaluable. She gave me character bios and general ideas of how she saw them in her mind (including reference photos!), which helped tremendously. Then I sit down and read! As I read through the story for the first time, I make voice memos as ideas come to me, character voices, physicality and attitudes, along with any outside factors that might sway my performances, like story setting and date. It's always crucial I write down any words I am unfamiliar with or need to check pronunciation on, because there is nothing worse than being in a groove in the booth and then going "what word is THAT!?" Once I have the whole story digested and have spent another day or so reflecting, in case anything else bubbles up for me, I get in the booth!
