It Had to Be You
Book Feature - It Had to Be You by Georgia Clark
HBL Note: Does anyone else have the Frank Sinatra song of the same name now playing in their head? Every time this book title came to my attention, whether it was when I received the book in the mail or when the publicist emailed me about it, or when I edited the photos…every time I spent the rest of the day with the song stuck in my head. And I love that song - it reminds me of When Harry Met Sally, one of my favorite rom coms. IT HAD TO BE YOU by Georgia Clark, which also takes place in New York, is about two unlikely business partners coming together after the death of a loved one. Scroll down to read more.
From the publisher:
For the past twenty years, Liv and Eliot Goldenhorn have run In Love In New York, Brooklyn’s top wedding planning business. Until, at the age of forty-nine, Eliot dies while visiting his younger girlfriend, Savannah. In a twist no one sees coming, Eliot leaves his half of the wedding-planning business to Liv, his wife, and half to the gobsmacked Savannah, who had no idea he was married.
Sexy, tender, and utterly charming, IT HAD TO BE YOU cleverly unites Liv, Savannah, and the various florists, caterers, musicians, brides and grooms, in a joyous LOVE ACTUALLY-style braided narrative. Second chances, secret romances, and steamy soul mates are front and center in this smart, emotional, laugh-out-loud rom com that’ll renew your faith in love and have you swooning on every page.
