Glorious Boy
Book Feature - Glorious Boy by Aimee Liu
HBL Note: Did you realize that 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II? Thus, it seems like the perfect time to feature this WWII novel inspired by real-life events. As my long-time readers know, I read a lot of WWII novels so I’m always looking for one with a different take on a story I know so well. I was intrigued by Glorious Boy because it takes place in an unexpected location, the South Asian archipelago known as the Andaman Islands. Scroll down to read more.
From the publisher:
Glorious Boy is a tale of war and devotion, longing and loss, and the power of love to prevail.
Set in India's remote Andaman Islands before and during WWII, the story revolves around a mysteriously mute 4-year-old who vanishes on the eve of Japanese Occupation. Little Ty's parents, Shep and Claire, will go to any lengths to rescue him, but neither is prepared for the brutal and soul-changing odyssey that awaits them.
