Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Neil Desai, because of his wit and charm
The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: In middle school, when I began writing out interactions with unrequited crushes as though they were novels.
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: I love every format but especially relish holding a paperback
The last book I read: I just reread The Female Persuasion by Meg Wolitzer
Pen & paper or computer: Pen and paper for plotting and computer for writing drafts
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Nandini
If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: I'm also a psychiatrist and love that both of my careers let me learn so much about human nature
Favorite decade in fashion history: Tie between 1920's and 1950's
Place I’d most like to travel: Kampala, Uganda, where our nonprofit is based
My signature drink: Prosecco
Favorite artist: My husband. He was part of Penn Masala, an a cappella group I had been a fan of since middle. They performed at my college during my senior year. I saw him on stage, took a picture of him, then introduced myself later.
Number one on my bucket list: Volunteer at the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary

Her debut novel will be released summer 2020, and her essays, articles, and poetry have been featured in The New York Times, ABC News, Refinery 29, and more. She is a practicing therapist, co-founder of the mental health nonprofit thisisforHER, and an Adjunct Professor at Mount Sinai. She lives in New York City with her husband and son.
