Favorite place to read a book: In our library/den with our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Callie, curled up in front of my chair.
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Does MacGyver count? Otherwise, Edmond Dantes (who also has a vast storehouse of useful information).
The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: About eight years old, reading Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and recognizing what a powerful gift it is to be able to create new worlds.
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Audiobook, mainly due to commute time.
The last book I read: War of the Wolf by Bernard Cornwell (of course)
Pen & paper or computer: Pen & paper, for the brain stimulation handwriting provides that the keyboard can't
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Sir Adam Sinclair (of The Adept series by Katherine Kurtz and Deborah Turner Harris). He's the one who turned me on to Macallan. Also, because magic.
If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: weird guy walking around talking to imaginary people. This way, at least, I get paid to do that.
Favorite decade in fashion history: 90s. Mainly because it wasn't the 60s, 70s, or 80s.
Place I’d most like to travel: Spain (purely for research, of course)
My signature drink: Macallan 18, one ice cube
Favorite artist: Seurat--So. Many. Dots. Contemporary: Linda Israel (I love her bears)
Number one on my bucket list: Round-the-world cruise
