The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: In elementary school. I was in grade 8 and entered a book writing contest with "My Family". My mom was a single parent of four children in the 70s and I wanted people to understand us. It won 1st, second and third place but I really think no one else entered!

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: A Psychologist. My undergrad degree was in psychology. It links directly to this book in terms of mental illness. We don't have enough experts in this field to support the number of people who need help.
Favorite decade in fashion history: The roaring 20s!
Place I’d most like to travel: New Zealand
My signature drink: Pink Whitney vodka with ice and water
Favorite artist: Sari Richter of Toronto
Number one on my bucket list: I've been parachuting, para sailing, tubing and have had many other experiences. I have not yet been white water rafting!

Author Bio: Excerpts from my Amazon Author Page: Lynn McLaughlin is an award-winning author, host of the podcast, "Taking the Helm", and consultant for aspiring authors. She has spent her life devoted to ensuring each of us meets our full potential. Mother of three grown children, she currently lives with her husband in southern Ontario.
Lynn is now passionate about sharing her journey of fear and survival during a life crisis. Her first book, "Steering Through It" has become the catalyst for her work in advocacy today.
On "Taking the Helm", Lynn speaks with change agents who have taken a crisis and turned it into possibilities for their lives and business.
Looking forward to the release of "Jackson", in the fall of 2020, Lynn is now raising awareness of mental health. From demons and desperation to love and hope, a mother and son face crisis after crisis as he struggles to accept and cope with his mental illness.
Lynn continues to be actively volunteering for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, Kingsville Southshore Rotary, 100 Women Who Care and other community organizations
