Author I draw inspiration from: Being observant
Favorite place to read a book: Sitting in the corner of the sofa with a warm blanket wrapped around me
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Winnie-the-Pooh (The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne)
The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: I can't say there was one defining moment, but I think my mom, Bettyann Dickey and her cousin, Lee Cain inspired me with their works -- Mom and her booklet titled Cincinnati's Lost Ocean and Cousin Lee with her years writing gardening articles for The Cincinnati Post. Both of these women showed me what was possible.
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Paperback
The last book I read: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
Pen & paper or computer: Computer when possible, otherwise pen and paper or whatever is handy to write on (the backs of envelopes are handy!)
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Winnie-the-Pooh (Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne)
If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: Artist
Favorite decade in fashion history: Renaissance (16th Century)
Place I’d most like to travel: France (the entire country!) followed by Slovakia, Switzerland and Germany
My signature drink: Sparkling water (especially key lime!) or fresh squeezed juice
Favorite artist: Claude Monet
Number one on my bucket list: Go bicycling in the Loire Valley
Anything else you'd like to add: Nurturing a caring world doesn't mean that we have to agree, but it does mean that we need live in a way that respects both people and nature.

Author Bio: As a writer/naturalist, A.D. Anderson (known to friends and colleagues as “April”) is always observing what’s around her. (This happens when you’re the youngest member of the family!) Seeing learning as a lifelong process inspired by curiosity, April loves to visit new places, read non-fiction, meet people from all over the world, and listen to stories. In A Field Guide to Everyday Life: Useful Ways to Reconnect with Nature & Humanity (her first book for adults), she was touched by the generous collaboration of colleagues to make this good book even better.
