Best Years of your Life
Book Feature - Best Years of your Life by Jen Craven
HBL Note: Jen Craven and I have been Instagram friends for a year. We first connected over being aspiring authors, as yet unpublished, and then we later realized we were both fashion merchandising professors earlier in our careers. Jen taught for over ten years at Mercyhurst University and I taught for six years (or was it seven? Gosh, I’ve lost track) at Indiana University. Over the year we discovered a mutual interest in ice skating when the Olympics were airing. Needless to say, we have a lot in common and I think if we lived closer we’d probably become IRL friends. But now Jen’s book is published! She’s an official, published author! I’m just so thrilled that I got to see part of this book’s journey when she was writing and editing and in the querying trenches. And now it is out in the world for readers to read and enjoy. Scroll down to read all about the BEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE by Jen Craven.
From the publisher:
Married college professors Christine and Joss thought they had it all: jobs they love, a beloved daughter, and most of all, each other-that is, until Joss's research pulls her further and further away. Lonely and seeking the emotional connection she once shared with her wife, Christine forms a friendship with a student that quickly walks the line of right and wrong.
Eighteen-year-old Abbie is an outcast desperate to fit in. When the most popular girl on campus suddenly befriends her, Abbie can't believe her luck. But the friendship comes with strings attached-stealing exams from her mom's computer for the in-crowd.
Soon, both mom and daughter are in deep-and everything's on the line. When their secret lives collide, their indiscretions culminate in a catastrophe no one saw coming.
With an eye for suspense perfectly blended with the tender mystery of human connection, BEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE explores the consequences of bad decisions and the tension between desire and dignity.
