Author I draw inspiration from: Just one?! Taylor Jenkins Reid, Judy Blume, Danielle Steele, Jodi Picoult, Colleen Hoover, Dominick Dunne, John Boyne, Sejal Badani, John Green, and Jo Jo Moyes--to name a few. Ha!

Favorite place to read a book: Does it matter?! As long as I'm holding a book! But probably on the beach overlooking the ocean or on a cozy couch with a mountain view. And having my dogs curled up beside me is a bonus.

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Oh gosh. I have a few. Jude St. Francis from Hanya Yanagihara's A Little Life. I hope he'd unload all his pain in there with me, so that when the doors opened, he could live a full, happy life. Then Elle from Miranda Cowley Heller's Paper Palace. I'd demand she tell me all about her final decision and the fallout. And finally, Henry DeTamble from Audrey Niffenegger's Time Traveler's Wife. Here's hoping I could climb on his shoulders and be swept away to another time.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: From a very early age, I was enthralled with stories and the magic of fiction. I didn't know I wanted to be an author because I didn't think I COULD be an author. I dabbled in journal writing and jotting down stories for no one's eyes but my own, and it wasn't until I turned thirty when I knew I had a story I had to tell. It wasn't so much about plot, but, rather, a lesson/experience that I wanted readers to learn and relate to. And they did. That story turned me into an author. I often ask myself, did I find this career or did it find me?

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Paperback 100%, but in order to get a jump on my TBR, I have been simultaneously listening to audiobooks while driving or taking walks.

The last book I read: The Roughest Draft by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka. Fabulous relationship read which really dives deep inside the angst of writing and editing.

Pen & paper or computer: Computer, but let's not forget the power of HANDWRITTEN thank you notes.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Any one of Maddie Dawson's characters! Marnie MacGraw from both Happy Catastrophe and Matchmaking for Beginners, or Phronsie from The Magic of Found Objects. Maddie creates magical free-spirits with tremendous depth who I both relate to and want to be more like.

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: Nature photographer, therapist, flower shop owner, ESPN sideline reporter, Nacho maker. One can dream!

Favorite decade in fashion history: Seventies! Color and sunshine, bold prints, bell-bottoms and glitter. The halter top and DVF's wrap dresses. I love the freedom of expression from this era, and the positivity that flowed from fabrics, patterns, and embroidered logos. The seventies woman exuded confidence and her clothes symbolized the time. I want to go back! Maybe Henry DeTamble will take me.

Place I’d most like to travel: New Zealand

My signature drink: Fresh-squeezed orange juice! But a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc is my go-to.

Favorite artist: Monet is a personal favorite. I love the color and movement. More recently, I have a fondness for Matthew Pillsbury and Erik Madigan Heck, as well as Isabella Koopman, a high schooler from my hometown who is just brilliant!

Number one on my bucket list: Number one on my bucket list is to finish my seventh novel, WHAT YOU DO TO ME. WYDTM is the story behind a famous love song and the reporter whose relationship is tested as she searches for the truth. Slated for Spring 2023, I'm 40K words in. If you're asking for something more exciting than that, I'm not a thrill-seeker at all, so my bucket list is all about family time, mountains and beaches, maintaining my sanity, and meaningful connections and experiences. Boring. I know. So I'll throw in finding the world's best nachos.

Anything else you'd like to add: This was fun! Thanks for the great questions. I guess I'll part by saying THANK YOU to anyone who took the time to read my responses. One of my favorite parts about this career is the connection it brings forth. Books have such a special way of making us feel a part of something way bigger. I'm honored to be here.
