Author of Dutybound: Light Wings Epic Vol. 1
Dutybound: Light Wings Epic Volume 1 is a coming-of-age dark fantasy novel set to release on June 22nd, 2021. The first of the Light Wings Epic trilogy, Dutybound follows Lucia Sanoon, the proclaimed savior of the Light Wings, and her companions as they seek the knowledge of how to cleanse their world of the sins that threaten to destroy their homelands.

Author I draw inspiration from: As an author, my main source of inspiration is the music I listen to. I also draw some inspiration from the video games, books, and anime, but mainly my creative process is informed by my ears. Music, particularly piano, is the driving force behind creative.
Favorite place to read a book: Can't say I have one. I can read anywhere. But when I was a kid, I use to read in my closet as odd as that might sound.
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Buck from Call of The Wild by Jack London. Its one of my all time favorite classics and I LOVE animals, dogs in particular.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: I started writing stories at age 8 but definitively I knew I wanted to be an author the day I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at age 13. The day I finished the series, I immediately knew I wanted to write my own fantasy series so I started Light Wings!
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Hardback, easily. Its the ultimate book lovers' experience. I try to almost always buy the hardback versions of all my favorite books. My mom is also an avid book collector. She's got dozens of classic hardbacks back home on her bookshelves.
The last book I read: The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

Pen & paper or computer: Pen & Paper. I write source material by hand. I can write faster than I can type.
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Klaus from A Series of Unfortunate Events. As a kid, I could relate to him the most out of him and his siblings. I think we'd have tons of interesting things to talk about.

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: The CEO & Founder of Light Wings Promotions LLC, a digital marketing and creative branding agency of which I own. Without LWP, I don't any of this would be possible.
Favorite decade in fashion history: The 1980s. The music and the movies are the absolute best!!
Place I’d most like to travel: Florence, Italy. I love the art and architecture.
My signature drink: Cucumber Chamoy Margarita! ¡Muy delicioso!
Favorite artist: Michelangelo. I was obsessed with his art in high school.
Number one on my bucket list: To visit an active volcano, I've always wanted to do that!
Anything else you'd like to add: I love concerts, playing video games, and hanging out with my friends when I'm not working or writing.

Author Bio: Mark A. Alvarez II is a Hispanic-American born in Houston, Texas. He's a graduate of Texas State University, where he studied Public Relations and Mass Communications. He is a graduate of the NEW Apprenticeship, the first tech-apprenticeship program accredited by the United States Department of Labor. He is the CEO and Founder of Light Wings Promotions LLC, a digital marketing and creative branding agency based in San Antonio, Texas, where Mark currently resides.
