Author Interview - Lisa Barr
Author of WOMAN ON FIRE
WOMAN ON FIRE is the gripping tale of a savvy, young journalist who gets embroiled in a major international art scandal centered around a Nazi-looted masterpiece. It's got all the goods thatI love to write: suspense ... art ...history... risky journalistic pursuits ... and of course, strong fiery women.
Author I draw inspiration from: Anne Frank
Favorite place to read a book: Curled up in the big chair in my Family Room with a soft blanket, a cappuccino, a scented candle and my dog
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Nancy Drew -- character and series
The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: It's in my first grade essay: What do you want to be when you grow up? Answer: Write books
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: ebook (BECAUSE I CAN'T See -- hahaha) ... but I love REAL books to hold close and put on my shelf.
The last book I read: LUCKY by Marissa Stapley
Pen & paper or computer: Computer/laptop
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Most recently ... Hannah Hall in Laura Dave's THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME ... smart, savvy, gutsy, a survivor -- it's suspense, but I like how Hannah thinks and her relationship with her stepdaughter ... my kinda girl
If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: An artist ... a painter (this is a fantasy -- but I feel as though I was an artist in my last life ...
Favorite decade in fashion history: Seventies -- hands-down. I have a closet full of bell bottoms
Place I’d most like to travel: Amsterdam ... my trip on March 14, 2020 was canceled due to YOU KNOW WHAT -- the C-word!
My signature drink: "The Staci" -- one of my close friends -- Staci Chase-- invented it ... and I love it, crave it: Vodka muddled with fresh grapefruit, grapefruit bitters, served on the rocks with lime
Favorite artist: Marc Chagall
Number one on my bucket list: Rent a villa in Tuscany with my family
Anything else you'd like to add: I have three daughters -- my muses -- my greatest accomplishment
