Author of Sold on Love

She’s a high-fashion realtor; he’s a low-maintenance mechanic. What on earth could they have in common?

Dressed in designer labels and cruising around town in her red Mercedes, workaholic realtor Harper Wilson presents the picture of success in charming Maple Falls. But Harper’s carefully cultivated image is resting on a shaky foundation. With a sudden drought in sales, she’s starting to see her professional dreams—along with her posh lifestyle—slipping away.

Car trouble brings her to mechanic Rusty Jenkins, and their unlikely friendship is taken to the next level when the laid-back Rusty allows her to give him a makeover for a charity bachelor auction. Harper soon discovers that beneath the town mechanic’s wild beard and grease-stained clothing lies a true Southern gentleman—someone with a kind heart and dreams of his own. Their chemistry is undeniable, but as they get closer, past fears and relationships start to creep in, reminding them of just how much is at stake when carefully constructed facades fall apart.

Author I draw inspiration from: Francine Rivers, Jenny B. Jones, Debbie Macomber

Favorite place to read a book: In my recliner.

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Michael Hosea from Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I'd have to explain how the elevator worked, though--he's from the 1800s. :)

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: I was reading Christian fiction, a new genre to me, and praying about ministry opportunities. I was always an avid reader, and other than one journalism class in high school, I never thought about being a writer. Writing and ministry came together on January 1, 2000, the day I began my writing career.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Sold on Love is available in all formats.

The last book I read: What the Amish Teach Us, by Donald Kraybill

Pen & paper or computer: I use mostly a desktop computer for writing and a laptop for everything else. I plot and do character work using pen and paper, sometimes transferring my notes to the computer. I like using colored pens, too.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: This is a good question; I had to think about it for a while. Probably Penelope Featherington from Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. She's a little feisty and has a good sense of humor. She's also a writer!

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: Special Education teacher, which I was for several years. Or a professional yarn artist. I'm obsessed with crochet.

Favorite decade in fashion history: 1920s, hands down. I don't dress in that style but I love the flowy, uncomplicated silhouettes, the bobbed hair, the hats, everything! Men's style was simpler too, but still sophisticated. I love casual styles so that's probably why I appreciate this era.

Place I’d most like to travel: Ireland. I'd love to go back to Austria--I spent half a summer there as a 19 year old. I'd like to take a Mediterranean cruise, and an Alaskan one. Maybe visit Korea some day. There's so many places I'd like to go!

My signature drink: Coffee with cream. I'm a simple woman.

Favorite artist: If we're talking fine art, Dali. His work is so surreal, vibrant and crisp. Favorite music artist is a tie between the Bee Gees, Toto, and a Christian artist, Paul Wright.

Number one on my bucket list: To have a family retreat/compound in the mountains or on the beach. I can't choose just one.

Anything else you'd like to add: This was so much fun! Speaking of fun, for all three books in the Maple Falls series (Hooked on You, Much Ado About a Latte, and Sold on Love) I've partnered with Arkansas Yarn Co., crochet artist Tamara Kelly, and knitting artist Cheryl Ham to bring exclusive yarn colorways and crochet/knit patterns with each book. To access the yarn and patterns for Hooked on You and Much Ado About a Latte, visit my website: https://kathleenfuller.com/pattern/. The Sold on Love patterns and colorway will be available in July.

I also do a monthly book giveaway/crochet item giveaway for my newsletter subscribers. You can find out about my upcoming books, my current crochet projects, my pitiful attempts at gardening, Amish recipes, and more. Visit https://kathleenfuller.com/email/ to sign up.
