Author I draw inspiration from: Alice Munro is such a great inspiration. She has a way with words that just touches my heart. I love Jonathan Franzen too. Reading him makes me want to write.

Favorite place to read a book: My perfect place to enjoy a book is on a hill, under the shade, for the cool breeze and the peace and quiet.

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: I would want to spend that brief time with Odenigbo in Chimamanda Adichie's "Half of a Yellow Sun". He is such an eccentric and interesting man.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: When I fell in love in my late teens, I started writing love songs, but I also knew that many stories could be born of the fate of love.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Paperback any day.

The last book I read: A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

Pen & paper or computer: Initially I resisted computers, but now, I only write with it. i cant bear transferring ideas from papers to computers. So I just feed them in straight.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Nate in John Grisham's "The Testament" is a man with many inner battles. Such a complex dude. I would love to meet him and be friends.

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: I guess I would be an actor; but I'm an author and an actor. Frequently changing the caps.

Favorite decade in fashion history: Give it to the eighties. The 80s were the very definition of cool.

Place I’d most like to travel: Give me Georgetown, Guyana, I also love Trinidad and Tobago

My signature drink: I drink water mostly. So, yeah, water.

Favorite artist: Backstreet Boys, like forever.

Number one on my bucket list: I would love to climb some hills in the Caribbean

Anything else you'd like to add: I am a 21st century explorer. And that's a lot of exploring, both in the real and virtual world.
