Author of BECAUSE I LOVED YOU
An epic love story and rich family saga, that moves from the East Texas chaparral in the 1970’s against the backdrop of the Vietnam War to the vibrant art scene of New York City in the mid-1980’s to the present day, and from dreams lost to dreams rediscovered, weaving together a powerful story of abiding love—romantic love, parental love, and the kind of love that sets a person free to choose one’s own path and maybe, hopefully, return.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author:
I was ten, waiting in the car as my mother ran errands, watching the passersby I could stop imagining the stories of their lives.

I rarely read one book at a time (bad habit?): TINKERS, Paul Harding. THE SWEET SPOT, Amy Poeppel (Audible). MY ANTONIA, Willa Cather.

An organizational psychologist. I'm fascinated by how people interact.

Author Bio:
A former screenwriter and retired attorney, Donnaldson Brown currently writes fiction and teaches trauma-sensitive yoga and somatic experiencing to veterans, first responders, and others coping with post-traumatic stress injuries. Her novel, Because I Loved You, came out in April 2023 by She Writes Press, and is already in its second printing. She has been awarded multiple residencies. Her spoken word pieces have been accepted for performance by the Deep Listening Institute and the Berkshire Theatre Festival. She is a mom and a concerned citizen, and divides her time between Brooklyn, New York and Western Massachusetts.
