Christine Meade
Author Interview - Christine Meade
Author I draw inspiration from: Samantha Hunt. Her books are beautiful and just the right amount of weird for me.
Favorite place to read a book: My parent’s cabin in New Hampshire on the back porch in a swing chair with a warm mug of coffee.
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Katniss Everdeen? I feel like she’d be able to get us out of there.
The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: When I was about five years old, I used to copy the illustrations and words from my children's' books, call them my own, and I remember thinking, “Being a writer is so easy! I would like to be an author when I grow up.”
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Paperback all the way.
The last book I read: “Turtles All the Way Down” by John Green
Pen & paper or computer: Computer. I’m a very fast typer.
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Nancy Drew. Such solid sleuthing at such a young age! Who wouldn’t want to hang out with her for the day and wrap up a puzzling mystery?
If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: Marine biologist. I’ve always found it fascinating how much life can be found in one little tide pool.
Favorite decade in fashion history: 1970s. I like the bold, bright colors and flowy materials. I’m a hippie at heart.
Place I’d most like to travel: Morocco! The colors! The textiles! The camels!
My signature drink: Large mug of coffee with almond milk and maple syrup. Or bourbon with lemon and maple syrup. Really, any drink I can put maple syrup in.
Favorite artist: Rihanna. I’m just waiting for that new album.
Number one on my bucket list: Publish a novel. So, I’ll have to go back and revise my list...
Anything else you'd like to add: In addition to being an author, I am also a book coach and editor, helping others make their bucket list writing dreams a reality! www.christine-meade.com
