The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: I wanted to be an author when we had a middle school assignment to write a short story, and I loved the assignment so much. But my grade on the assignment was only average, and my beloved story was picked apart for uneven paragraphs and incorrect verb use. My confidence sank and I dismissed my enjoyment of the act and labeled myself as talentless. It wasn't until I was in my late twenties that I really gave 'writing a book' a try, with a cheerful expectation of failure. That book went on to be a roaring success, and gave me the confidence to write another, then another.

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: Dog sitter. I'm an excellent petter of fur. Plus I have three at home. I'm used to barking and licks.
Favorite decade in fashion history: 2000s. Post scrunchies and fanny packs but before the high-waisted mom jeans came back.
Place I’d most like to travel: Alaska
My signature drink: Malibu and pineapple juice
Favorite artist: A bartender on Duval Street does wicked skull art. Him.
Number one on my bucket list: Catch up on sleep. Oh, is that cheating? Okay... ummm.. I want to rent an RV and spend four months driving around the United States.
