The TimeKeepers
Book Review - The TimeKeepers by Jenn Bregman
Back in July I had the opportunity to interview Jenn Bregman (click here to read that post.) I am so happy I was finally able to read her book and review it for you here. It is difficult to interview and author before you've had a chance to read the book, but her answers intrigued me and I was excited to get started on this one. After reading it, I can't believe I waited this long. It was a page-turner until the very end!
The book is set in southern California and is primarily centered around Sarah and Sam. Both are lawyers at different law firms, they knew each other in law school but recently reconnected and started dating. Sarah works for her own law firm after leaving Big Law to focus more on helping those in need. Sam works for one of the largest and most successful law firms in the area, but still has a strong moral compass. Soon they discover that their professional lives are overlapping as a lawyer at Sam's firm is representing the defendant in Sarah's case.
As Jenn mentioned in her interview with me this summer, this book is the first in a trilogy. The next book, which is due to come out next year, is set in New York City (the third is set in Colorado - so she's covering most of the USA in this series!) I am eager to see where the next book begins compared to where The TimeKeepers ended - I hope she delves more into Sarah and Sam's budding romance. Did he ever get her another diamond necklace as he promised?? We get a good sense of what happens to Maurice, the villain in the story, in the end but many of the other characters' stories are left open-ended.
I am so glad that Jenn and her publisher reached out to me to read and review this book. I thought it was well-written and it kept me entertained until the very end. I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out!
