5 years. FIVE years. Five years ago today my husband bought this domain name and set up this website. He’d been telling me for years that I should blog about books. He thought it would be a good creative outlet for me because work, at the time, was dragging me down. But reading was my safe haven, an escape, and 100% relaxing. I worried that time spent writing about books would take away from time spent reading books. And that concern was somewhat founded, but what I hadn’t anticipated was the community that would form. I’ve interviewed over 600 authors. I work with hundreds of book publicists. I interact with fellow readers and book-lovers on a regular basis.
And best of all, when I shared that I, too, wanted to be an author. That I had dreams of publishing a book and that I was working on a historical fiction manuscript, you supported me, encouraged me, and lifted me up when I had doubts. I could never have imagined what this has turned into. I’m so grateful to have this creative outlet and to have connected with each one of you.
