Greedy Heart
Book Feature - Greedy Heart by A. P. Murray
HBL Note: Greedy Heart by A. P. Murray is a novel for fans of The Big Short and Wolf of Wall Street. This is a fictional take on the 2008 Wall Street crash, written by a technology consultant. The publicist I work with described this book as, “a personal favorite of mine – a complete underdog but I could not put it down.” Then, at the bottom of her description, I read, “ Perfect for fans of Hustlers...” I just watched Hustlers starring Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles and Keke Palmer with my husband the other day, one of our Quarantine movie picks, and it was SO good. I always like to read the “for fans of” section, which I find to be a pretty good predictor of whether or not I’ll enjoy the book. And comparing to Hustlers is almost definitely an indicator that this one is going to be a good one. Scroll down to read more about Greedy Heart by A. P. Murray.
From the publisher:
For Delia math just makes sense—more sense than people, anyway.
It’s 2006, and Delia Mulcahy is living in a shabby apartment and facing crushing student debt. Suddenly, she’s plucked from obscurity to work for Wall Street’s top hedge fund. Determined to make her millions, Delia must master the cutthroat world of big-stakes trading and profit off of the cataclysm of the looming crash.
In the underbelly of finance, no one is who they say they are. Delia finds herself embroiled in devious schemes and duplicitous deals as her recklessness threatens every relationship in her life: family, friends and especially the two rival CEOs vying for her genius.
It's a high-risk game and she is a better player than most. When her soul is on the line, how much is enough for her greedy heart?
