HBL Note: I love getting book recommendations from authors I’ve read and interviewed. Rhys Bowen described Charity’s Burden by Edith Maxwell as, “a terrific historical read.” Charity’s Burden is the latest novel in Edith’s historical Quaker Midwife Mysteries. A friend of mine is big into dressing up in historic costume, so I loved hearing that Edith Maxwell dressed up in 1880s traditional Quaker attire when she first launched the Quaker Midwife Mysteries and gave tours of the locations mentioned in her first novel.
