The Other Passenger
Book Feature - The Other Passenger by Louise Candlish
HBL Note: Ruth Ware described Louise Candlish as “Queen of the sucker-punch twist,” which is such a great description (anyone who read Our House knows.) This is the third book I’ve featured by Louise (I also featured Those People in 2019) so her name shouldn’t be knew if you’ve been following HBL for awhile. But in case you haven’t picked up a Louise Candlish book, you’re in for a treat! I can hardly wait to find out what sucker-punch twist she throws at us in The Other Passenger, which was named one of CrimeReads’ most anticipated books of 2021. Scroll down to read more about it.
From the publisher:
It all happens so quickly. One day you’re living the dream, commuting to work by ferry with your charismatic neighbor Kit in the seat beside you. The next, Kit hasn’t turned up for the boat and his wife, Melia, has reported him missing.
When you get off at your stop, the police are waiting. Another passenger saw you and Kit arguing on the boat home the night before and the police say that you had a reason to want him dead. You protest. You and Kit are friends - ask Melia, she’ll vouch for you. And who exactly is this other passenger pointing the finger? What do they know about your lives?
No, whatever danger followed you home last night, you are innocent, totally innocent.
Aren’t you?
