Best Apps For New Moms

Becoming a new mom or dad is a monumental event in a person’s life. While it is an exciting time, it can also bring a lot of changes that are not easy to adapt to. Adjusting to a new routine, taking care of a newborn, and dealing with the physical and emotional aftermath of labor and birth can take a toll on a new mom's overall health and well-being. It can be overwhelming to take care of a newborn while also trying to recover from the physical stresses of childbirth.

Thankfully, technology has made it easier for new moms to navigate through this chapter in their lives with more ease. Various apps for new parents are available that can help track their baby's feeding and sleeping schedules, record milestones, and find support from other new moms. These parenting apps can also provide helpful information about postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and other important topics that new moms need to know. By using these apps, new moms can take the guesswork out of parenting and focus on enjoying this special time with their new bundle of joy.

Best Apps For New Moms

Peanut

The Peanut app is a social networking platform designed specifically for mothers. It aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for women to connect with other mothers who share similar experiences and interests. The app offers various features that allow users to join groups based on their location, interests, and stages of motherhood. Additionally, Peanut offers a unique "swipe" feature that allows users to connect with other moms in a way similar to popular dating apps. The app also provides resources and advice on topics such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, and parenting. Overall, the Peanut app is a useful tool for mothers looking to connect with other like-minded individuals and find support during their motherhood journey.

Tinybeans

Tinybeans is a fantastic app that provides parents with a platform to capture and share precious moments of their children's lives. With its user-friendly interface, Tinybeans is easy to navigate and allows parents to upload photos and videos of their children, as well as create milestones and memories that can be shared with mom friends and family. The app also provides a safe and secure environment for parents to store their memories, with options for privacy settings and backup storage. Overall, Tinybeans is a must-have app for parents who want to cherish and share their children's important moments.

Hatch Baby

Hatch Baby is a fantastic app that is designed to make parenting a little easier. This app provides parents with tools and resources to help them track their baby's feeding times, diaper changes, and sleep patterns. Additionally, the app offers tips and advice on how to soothe a crying baby, establish a bedtime routine, and even track your baby milestones. The Hatch Baby app is user-friendly and customizable, allowing parents to set reminders and alerts for their specific needs. With Hatch Baby, parents can feel more confident and in control of their baby's care. Overall, Hatch Baby is an invaluable resource for any new parent and my favorite for a general baby tracker. I especially liked that it could differentiate between bottle feeding (including pumped milk or formula) and breast feeding so that I knew how much of each our baby was getting. The Hatch Baby app pairs nicely with the Hatch Changing Table.

Baby Notebook

The Baby Notebook app is a must-have for new parents who want to keep track of milestones and memories. It is the app I’m using to make a non-traditional baby book for my son - starting with my pregnancy through his first year. You can add and subtract pages as you’d like, change headers to make them applicable to you and your family, and keep track as many “firsts” as you’d like. It is designed for the modern mom who cherishes the memories she’s making but may not have time (or desire) to fill in all the tedious information of a traditional baby book. I’ve found the Baby Notebook app to be easy to use, aesthetically pleasing, and the perfect way to remember my son’s first year.

Nanit

The Nanit app is a great app for parents looking to monitor their baby's sleep patterns and overall well-being. With its user-friendly interface and advanced features, the app allows parents to track their baby's sleep, receive personalized insights and recommendations, and even connect with a certified sleep coach for additional support. The app's cutting-edge technology can monitor breathing motion and provide real-time alerts if any issues are detected, giving parents peace of mind and helping them ensure their baby's safety throughout the night. Overall, the Nanit app is an excellent resource for new parents looking to optimize their baby's sleep and create healthy sleep habits from an early age. We give a lot of credit for our relatively few sleep deprived days to this app. We also credit our sound sleeper to Taking Cara Babies (which I discussed in this post about best gifts for new moms), our Snoo, and good white noise sounds.

The app is user-friendly and accessible, making it an excellent resource for busy parents who want to ensure their child is on track with their development. Overall, the Pathways.org app is an excellent tool for parents and caregivers who want to give their child the best possible start in life.

Solid Starts is an excellent app for parents who want to ensure that their babies and toddlers are receiving a balanced and nutritious diet through solid foods. This app provides a wealth of information on how to introduce new foods, what nutrients are essential for growth, and how to cook and prepare meals for young children. The app features a user-friendly interface, with videos and articles that are easy to understand for busy parents on the go. Solid Starts also emphasizes the importance of variety in a child's diet, and offers tips on how to avoid common food allergens. Overall, Solid Starts is an invaluable resource for parents who want to provide their children with a healthy and delicious diet.

Sittercity is an innovative and user-friendly app that connects parents with qualified and reliable babysitters in their area. With its intuitive interface and comprehensive search function, the app makes it easy for parents to find a sitter who meets their specific needs and preferences. Sittercity also provides a secure platform for communication and payment between parents and sitters, ensuring peace of mind for both parties. Whether you need a last-minute sitter or a regular caregiver, Sittercity is a convenient and trustworthy choice for parents everywhere.

The Flo Period and Pregnancy Tracker app is a popular mobile application designed to help women track their menstrual cycles, fertility, and pregnancy. With a user-friendly interface and a range of customizable features, the app provides women with personalized insights into their reproductive health and helps them stay informed about their bodies.

One of the key features of the app is its period tracking function, which allows users to log their menstrual cycles and predict when their next period is likely to occur. This can be particularly useful for women who are trying to conceive, as it can help them identify their most fertile days and increase their chances of becoming pregnant.

In addition to period tracking, the Flo app also offers a range of other features, including ovulation tracking, pregnancy planning and tracking, and personalized health insights based on user data.
