Author Interview - Zac Bissonnette
Author of A Killing in Costumes
A Killing in Costumes is inspired by best friendship from childhood--it's a story about the unique relationship between a gay guy and his lesbian best friend, perhaps brought together by that shared identity before either realizes what it is. Jay and Cindy, my sleuths, were best friends in middle school, then singing stars on a soap opera together, where they played a husband-and-wife duo. Then they got married in real life, came out, got divorced, and lost their careers. Now, twenty years later, they're back together as best friends, opening Hooray for Hollywood, a Palm Springs movie memorabilia store. Business is off to a slow start, but a chance to handle the collection of a lifetime emerges with the arrival of a 90-year old former film vixen. When Jay and Cindy's prime competitors for the deal ends up dead, they must clear their names to save their lives and their business.
