Author I draw inspiration from: There are so many authors whose works inspire me. Nalini Singh has had a particular influence on my writing. I revisit her Psy-Changeling books often, and she turns emotional connection into its own distinct character. Every bond in her books has a different feel and flavour. All I can think is, I want to write like that.

Favorite place to read a book: I will read anywhere, including the car, the bathroom, and the line at the Post Office. When I’m deep into a book, I can’t put it down. Maybe that’s why my favourite place to read is anywhere comfortable and isolated. Comfortable because I’ll be there for hours until I’m done, and isolated so no-one can interrupt!

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Being stuck in an elevator with someone I don’t know is my worst nightmare, so it’d have to be someone super sweet and nonthreatening. I would also be very stressed if I was stuck in an elevator, so they’d need to be a calming presence. I’m thinking Khalid from Ayesha At Last. I’d feel safe and chill with him.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: Always! It’s been my forever dream.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Ebook all the way. It’s much harder to read a paperback while brushing your teeth. I should probably prefer audiobooks, except I find it difficult to concentrate on sound for that long. I’m always zoning in and out.

The last book I read: I just finished A Gentleman Never Keeps Score by Cat Sebastian. I’m a huge fan of hers and I’d been saving this story. It’s a Regency M/M romance between a boxer-turned-pub-owner and a… tortured… almost-aristocrat… type person. There is sweet romance and righteous skulduggery. Sebastian never disappoints.

Pen & paper or computer: It definitely depends on my mood—but usually, computer.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: The heroine of Think I Might Love You by Christina C. Jones is just a barrel of fun and chaos. She’d definitely liven me up, and I might help her out of a few scrapes.

If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: Sad, sad lady. LOL, just kidding (kind of). If I wasn’t an author, I’d probably be a teacher.

Favorite decade in fashion history: I’m horrible with fashion. I’m lazy and I don’t care very much, so I can typically be found lounging around in whatever’s comfortable. But I do remember that, growing up, I was in love with the 90s style my mum and aunts wore. Door-knocker earrings and Jimmy Choos and low-rise jeans. So that’s my choice.

Place I’d most like to travel: Lagos. It’s not too far (I hate travelling far), and it looks like party central.

My signature drink: The only things I really drink are water and vodka. Water every day, vodka if I go out. My grandma always said that a lady drinks spirits because they’re clean.

Favorite artist: I have quite a few Vashti Harrison prints, plus that Lupita Nyong’o book she illustrated—Sulwe. I love her style.

Number one on my bucket list: I want to meet an elephant! And stroke one, if it lets me.

Anything else you'd like to add: Thanks for such fun questions!
