Author Interview - Rachel Lacey

Author of Stars Collide

Stars Collide is a grumpy/sunshine celebrity romance between an up and coming young pop star with a very bubbly, very queer brand, and a reserved legend of pop music who's lonely and jaded after twenty years of stardom. She's always assumed she was straight but never understood why she's never had much passion in her life. When they're teamed up for a duet at the Grammy's, well, it's safe to say that both of their worlds will be rocked that night.

Favorite place to read a book: On my couch, under a cozy blanket.

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Amelia Duxton from Hotel Queens by Lee Winter. She's so smart and cool-headed, she'd definitely know what to do and help keep me calm in the meantime.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: I was about thirteen and handing in a creative writing assignment in English class when I realized everyone else's was a few paragraphs long, and I'd written a short book.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Ebook

The last book I read: Meeting Millie by Clare Ashton

Pen & paper or computer: Computer

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Maggie Cooper from Write Your Own Script by AL Brooks. She's a sapphic romance author like me, so we'd have plenty to talk about!

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: A very unhappy person haha! I'd probably still be working in marketing, which I left shortly before I became a published author.

Favorite decade in fashion history: Oh goodness, I'm terrible with fashion! Probably the early 2000's? I feel like we were looking good then. I'm not so sure about some of these 90s trends coming back now, maybe because they remind me of my awkward teen years - ha!

Place I’d most like to travel: Anywhere I haven't been yet! I'd love to see more of Europe, and I really want to see the Northern Lights, so maybe Iceland?

My signature drink: Anything with bubbles!

Favorite artist: Taylor Swift

Number one on my bucket list: Well, I just mentioned the Northern Lights, so let's go with that!

She’s been climbed by a monkey on a mountain in Japan, gone scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, and camped out overnight in New York City for a chance to be an extra in a movie. These days, the majority of her adventures take place on the pages of the books she writes. She lives in the mountains of Vermont with her family and a variety of rescue pets.
