Hi.

Welcome to Hasty Book List, where I document and review the books I read. Hope you have a nice stay!

Author I draw inspiration from: There are too many to count! I have old favorites like Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, and Anthony Trollope, and current authors I look up to like Kate Morton and Kristin Hannah.

Favorite place to read a book: When I was a little girl, I dreamed of having a fabulous reading nook. When I moved into my current flat in London, I bought the perfect blue velvet chaise for curling up with a good book and a cup of tea.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: It’s such a cliché, but I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be an author. My parents still have little scribbled “books” that I wrote when I was a little girl. I never stopped writing, but I really got serious about becoming an author in graduate school.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: I love them all! I will usually pick up a paperback or hardcover out of habit, but audiobooks have recently become a favorite way to read.

The last book I read: A Scandalous Deal by Joanna Shupe

Pen & paper or computer: Computer. I can type much faster than I can write.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: I feel like Lizzie Bennett and I would get into no end of trouble, and it would be a lot of fun.

If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: I can’t imagine being anything else.

Favorite decade in fashion history: I’ve always loved the 1950s and Dior’s New Look.

Place I’d most like to travel: There are so many places! I’m still exploring Europe after moving to London more than two years ago, and I have plans to visit Vienna and Budapest soon.

My signature drink: An Old Fashioned

Favorite artist: Degas. His paintings of ballerinas were my favorites when I was a little girl.

Number one on my bucket list: Taking a year and living in three or four different places as I’m writing away.
