Favorite place to read a book: On the dock at my parents' lake house in West Virginia.

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Like millions of others, I'd be very happy to be stuck in an elevator with Jamie Fraser from Outlander. :)

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: I'm not sure! I think I've always known I wanted to be an author. When I was little, I'd write books and magazines on various topics (usually historical) and try to sell them door to door in my neighborhood. Stories have always been with me. Prior to writing my first novel, I was in public relations, and I've thought so often that PR is also a form of storytelling.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Paperback!

The last book I read: The Lost Book of Eleanor Dare by Kimberly Brock - it's a sweeping, beautiful story about the bond between mothers and daughters and the magic of a tale passed down for generations.

Pen & paper or computer: It sounds so romantic to say pen & paper, but unless I'm outlining it's computer.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Frankie Simon in A Summer to Remember by Erika Montgomery

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: I'm a PR assistant part time, so I think I'd probably be doing that full time!

Favorite decade in fashion history: The Gilded Age, of course! Or possibly the '40s.

Place I’d most like to travel: It's been on my bucket list to visit The Grand Hotel in Michigan for years!

My signature drink: I wish I could say something cool and history-lover appropriate here, like a sidecar or whisky highball, but anyone who knows me well knows that my only actual signature drink is coffee. haha. I drink WAY too much of it.

Favorite artist: John M. Williams. I found him on eBay, actually, and his work is vibrant and so lovely!

Number one on my bucket list: I mean, I'm an author. Of course it's going to be to hit the Times list! :)

Anything else you'd like to add: I'm SO excited for readers to dive in to the colorful world of Dorothy Draper and The Greenbrier! Writing THE GRAND DESIGN made me feel like I was on vacation. I hope readers will feel the same!
