The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: When I was four, I told a librarian that I was going to write books when I grew up. My Grandma loved to tell that story; I wish she’d lived to see me doing it.
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Audiobook for non-fiction, paperback for fiction and research, e-book for travelling. Hardbacks are too heavy to read in the bath; my arms get tired.
The last book I read: The Cry, by Helen Fitzgerald. I was a little late to that party, but I’m very glad I came.

Pen & paper or computer: Laptop. I type fast, and I lose notebooks.
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Can we agree that Anne Lamott is a character in her own books? Because I really want to be friends with her.

If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: mess. Writing is the number one thing that keeps me balanced, focused and happy.
Favorite decade in fashion history 1940s. I like to think I’d magically have a waist.
Place I’d most like to travel: Japan for the onsens, or open-air hot spring baths. There’s a theme here…
My signature drink: Iced spearmint tea with lemon. I drink gallons of it when I’m writing.
Favorite artist: Diego Rivera. Murals are the novels of the art world.
Number one on my bucket list: A year-long American road trip, in an electric car.
Anything else you'd like to add: How ridiculously excited I am that Not Bad People is coming out in the US. Adapting the Australian slang for North American readers was so much fun. I can’t wait to hear what you all think of it.
