Author of Kisses and Croissants
“As sweet as a macaron from Ladurée, with writing as crisp as a freshly baked baguette, this romantic novel set in Paris about an American ballerina and a charming French boy is parfait for fans of American Royals and Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
Seventeen-year-old Mia, an American girl at an elite summer ballet program, has six weeks to achieve her dreams: to snag an audition with one of the world’s best ballet companies. But there’s more to Paris than ballet—especially when a charming French boy, Louis, wants to be her tour guide—and the pair discover the city has a few mysteries up its sleeve.
In the vein of romances like Love and Gelato, this is the perfect summer adventure for anyone looking to get swept away in the City of Love.”
Author I draw inspiration from: So many! Nicola Yoon, Jenny Han, Liane Moriarty, Gillian Flynn, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sally Rooney, Brit Bennett...
Favorite place to read a book: On a lounge chair facing the Caribbean Sea. If that's not possible, on my couch with my tuxedo cat snuggled up against me.
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: January Andrews from Beach Read by Emily Henry.
The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: I always knew I wanted to become an author. I’ve been writing fiction for as long as I can remember.
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: Paperback, closely followed by hardback.
The last book I read: Hot British Boyfriend by Kristy Boyce.
Pen & paper or computer: Computer! I love writing by hand, too, but mostly to take notes or brainstorm ideas.
Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Rebecca Bloomwood from Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella.
If I weren’t an author, I’d be a: Writer in another way, or I'd still work at an advertising agency.
Favorite decade in fashion history: I can’t pick just one! I love 90’s minimalism, the mod style of the 60’s, and the glamour of the 30’s.
Place I’d most like to travel: I’d love to go back to Japan or to visit South Korea. Other than that, I'm happy anywhere with a white sand beach, palm trees, and turquoise water.
My signature drink: A chai oat milk latte or a black ice tea.
Favorite artist: I have many, but I discovered two on Instagram whose work I really admire: Alice Quaresma, a Brazilian artist who paints over photographs of her home country, and Bobby Clark, an Australian painter who uses geometric shapes in a minimalist way.
Number one on my bucket list: Writing another novel. This one is perpetually at the top of my bucket list.
Anything else you'd like to add: Thank you so much for featuring me and Kisses and Croissants!
