Author I draw inspiration from: Mary Stewart has had a remarkable impact on my writing. Her romantic suspense novels are some of my favorite books, and her style and craft is illuminating.

Favorite place to read a book: Curled up on the “cuddler” end of the sectional in my living room with a soft blanket and a cup of tea or coffee

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: Julian Kestrel, for he certainly wouldn’t run out of amusing things to distract us.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: At some point during the long Memorial Day weekend the year after I graduated college. I had decided to dabble with writing again, and cleared out that entire holiday weekend to research and write. It was like stepping into an old dress I had forgotten how much I loved. I knew then that was what I was going to spend my life pursuing.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: I do read ebooks, but I prefer print books. Paperbacks are more comfortable to hold.

The last book I read: Arabella by Georgette Heyer

Pen & paper or computer: Normally computer. But I have discovered that if I’m stuck, picking up a pen and paper to write often gets me out of my jam since it utilizes different areas of my brain.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: Anne Elliot from Persuasion.

If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: musician of some kind, or a speech and language pathologist

Favorite decade in fashion history: 1800-1810.

Place I’d most like to travel: Scotland again. Also Italy, Madeira, and Ireland.

My signature drink: Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

Favorite artist: Caspar David Friedrich and Thomas Cole.

Number one on my bucket list: Sky Dive (though this one will have to wait until my children are adults)

Anything else you'd like to add: Many thanks for interviewing me! These were fun questions.
